Cleaning Tips

  • Stone is a natural material, thus its color and pattern can vary greatly. Each stone surface has its own distinct characteristics. This individuality makes each stone fixture a unique and original addition to your home.
  • KOHLER stone bathroom sinks are treated with FILA MP90 a natural-look, penetrating sealer biannual applications of a similar, solvent-based sealer will be required to protect the finish. If your sink is used often, more frequent sealer application may be necessary. Sealer application is warranted when water no longer beads on the surface.
  • Kohler Co. recommends that you test your sealer on an inconspicuous area of the sink before applying to the entire surface.
  • Application of a stone sealer will help make natural stone surfaces less porous and more resistant to stains (stone sealer will not make the surface stain-proof).
  • Do not use bristle brushes, scouring pads, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners.
  • Keep chemicals such as bleach, fingernail polish remover, fingernail polish, oils, etc. away from your sink to prevent staining or damage.
  • If staining does occur, use a stain remover specifically formulated for natural stone.
  • Kohler Co. recommends that you test your stone stain remover on an inconspicuous area of the sink before applying to any stain.
  • Natural stone may change color over time if exposed to direct sunlight.
