Vanities
Buying Guide

Form, function, and finish are vital considerations for your vanity.

Getting Started

In addition to being a focal point in the design of your bathroom, the right vanity can solve storage and organization problems, reduce clutter, and improve your daily routines. Begin the process by considering your personal style preferences, your family’s routines and storage needs, and the layout of the bathroom where it will be placed.

Your new vanity journey

Choose a Style & Finish

The style and finish will determine the look of the vanity.

Get Organized

Add storage, mirror, and lighting options to add style and convenience.

Choose a Style & Finish

Start the process by choosing the style and finish that most closely matches your personal style preferences and room design plans. You can choose a vanity that blends in with the rest of the room or stands out as a bold statement piece.

Choose a Design Style

What’s your design style? Whether it’s traditional, modern, or something in between, there’s a vanity that can fit it. Keep in mind that you don’t have to match your existing bathroom—contrasting old and new can make a fresh, stunning design statement.

Explore by Finish

From bright and cheerful to sleek and luxurious, the vanity finish can set the tone for the entire room.

Whites

From charming traditional to sleek contemporary, white is one of the most versatile vanity colors. White can be used to blend into a design or stand out.

Grays

A gray vanity adds a touch of sophistication to any space. The shade of grey can make a big difference in the overall impact the color makes in the design.

Wood Tones

Offering visual texture and a connection with nature, wood-tone vanities are available in a spectrum of hues and shades to complement a range of styles.

Deep Hues

Bold and dramatic, deep-hued vanities are almost always a statement piece and can be used to create a sleek, urbane aesthetic or a stately traditional look.

Select a Size & Configuration

Whether you need a small vanity for your powder room or a double vanity for your master bathroom, choosing the right configuration is important. Think about the functionality of drawers versus doors as well as how many people will be using the bathroom.

Vanity Sizes

Vanities come in standard sizes between 24" and 60". Choose a size that fits your space well, or pair two small vanities instead of using one large vanity.

Small Vanities

Small vanities are 30" and smaller. They're ideal for bathrooms where maximizing space is a concern. In a larger bathroom, two small vanities can be joined for a custom look.

Select by Configuration

Choose between an all-in-one vanity that include a vanity top, sink, and hardware and a semicustom vanity in which you can configure those elements to your preferences.

Semicustom

With a nearly unlimited range of designs, these vanities let you create a vanity that is perfectly tailored to your personal style.

All-in-One

These vanities are pre-configured with the vanity top, sink, and hardware, taking the guesswork out of the process. All you need to do is select a faucet.

How to Measure

First, figure out how much space you have. Are you replacing a vanity and working within the same footprint? Do existing elements like medicine cabinets or windowsills flimit vanity, sink, or faucet height? Will adding the vanity block the swing of doors? How is the space plumbed? If it’s for one sink, is it centered in the space or off to one side?

Next, take your measurements.

1. If this is a simple replacement, measure the length (side to side), width (front to back) and height (top to bottom) of your current vanity and choose a new one with the same measurements.

2. Measure the full length of the space with which you have to work. Your design may include one or two vanities with a space between, so the full measure is key.

3. Measure the distance of space available from the wall forward to ensure standard vanity widths will fit easily. Remember to leave room for the swing of the bathroom and shower door. You will also want to be able to leave vanity drawers and doors open without being blocked. And don’t forget to include enough space for individuals to move about comfortably in front of the vanity.

4. Height should be measured from the floor to the top of the vanity or, if you’re replacing or planning on a wall-mounted vanity, from the base of the vanity to the top. Think about the height in terms of comfort as well—wall-mounted vanities can be installed at varying heights.

5. If the new vanity is going to cover a different footprint than the old one, you’ll want to consider the flooring under the vanity and whether it will require any updates—especially if transitioning from a floor-standing vanity to a wall-mount model.

Choose Your Base

The vanity base helps create the overall look. Legs make the vanity look like furniture and wall-mount vanities without legs give a minimalist feel.

Floor-Standing Vanities

Legs on a vanity add a decorative touch and reinforce the look of fine furniture. The legs can also give your bathroom a custom feel, even if the vanity is not.

Wall-Mount Vanities

Wall-mount vanities appear to float, for a clean, minimalist look no matter what the vanity's actual design style is. They are easy to clean under, too, and can make a small bathroom feel larger.

Complete the Look (Semicustom)

If choosing a semicustom vanity, the next step is to select the vanity top, sink, faucet, and hardware.

Explore Semicustom Vanities

Whites

From charming traditional to sleek contemporary, white is one of the most versatile vanity colors. White can be used to blend into a design or stand out.

Grays

A gray vanity adds a touch of sophistication to any space. The shade of grey can make a big difference in the overall impact the color makes in the design.

Wood-Tones

Deep Hues

Bold and dramatic, deep-hued vanities are almost always a statement piece and can be used to create a sleek, urbane aesthetic or a stately traditional look.

Choose a Faucet and Hardware

The faucet you select will determine how many mounting holes your vanity top requires, so it’s a good idea to begin customizing your vanity with the faucet. The faucet is one of the most touched and noticed components in the room, so select one that reflects your personal design preferences.

Select a Vanity Top

Our tops are available as stand-alone units or with the sink integrated into the design. Select that material and style that matches your needs.

Cast Iron

Enameled cast iron is created by sifting or spraying powdered glass on to molten cast iron. The materials fuse and harden into a durable enamel in a range of deep, rich colors, for long-lasting beauty.

Select a Sink

If choosing a vanity top without an integrated sink, your next step is determining the style, material, and configuration for your sink.

Vessel Sinks

Vessel sinks sit well above the level of the countertop to create a unique design element of their own.

Undermount Sinks

Undermount sinks sit below the surface of the countertop and are favored by many for their sleek look and being easy to clean.

Drop-In Sinks

Drop-in sinks sit on the surface of the countertop and combine the benefits of both vessel and undermount sinks.
